Privacy Policy

Overview

Gapshot is free to play without creating an account. An optional leaderboard feature lets you submit your score and compete globally — this requires signing in. If you never sign in, no personal data is collected or transmitted.

Local storage (no account)

Your high score and game preferences are saved using Apple's standard UserDefaults on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to sign in.

Leaderboard & account (optional)

If you choose to submit a score to the leaderboard, you must sign in with Apple or Google. By signing in you agree to share the following data with our leaderboard backend:

· Your email address (used only to link accounts across sign-in providers and prevent duplicates)
· The nickname you choose
· Your high score

This data is stored securely in Supabase, our backend provider. Only your nickname and score are publicly visible on the leaderboard. Your email address is never displayed to other players.

You can delete your leaderboard data at any time by contacting us at contact@gapshot.app.

Sign in with Apple

When you sign in with Apple, Apple authenticates you and provides Gapshot with a verified identifier and, on first sign-in, optionally your name. Apple's privacy policy applies to the authentication step. Gapshot stores only what is described above.

Sign in with Google

When you sign in with Google, Google authenticates you and provides Gapshot with a verified identifier and your email address. Google's Privacy Policy applies to the authentication step. Gapshot stores only what is described above.

Advertising

Free users see interstitial ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) and other data to show relevant ads, as described in Google's Privacy Policy. On iOS, you will be asked for permission before any identifier is accessed. You can opt out at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Users who purchase the Remove Ads upgrade are never shown ads and AdMob is not loaded for their sessions.

In-app purchases

Gapshot offers a one-time Remove Ads purchase processed entirely by Apple. We do not store payment information. Purchase status is validated via RevenueCat, which may process your App Store receipt to confirm entitlements.
